Zumba with Valerie 11-11:45am
Hello! My name is Valerie Spring and I am have been a licensed Zumba instructor for almost 13 years. I have had many great opportunities teaching throughout Hamilton, including at the YMCA, the City of Hamilton Recreation Centres, along with numerous community events such as Concession Streetfest and more! Zumba started me on many paths into fitness that I never would have dreamed possible, including Water Fit and Seniors Fitness. I teach regular classes at St. Stephen on the Mount Church located at 625 Concession Street in Hamilton, on Thursdays at 6:30pm. My classes are for all genders, all levels of experience and all body types. I look forward to teaching a Zumba class on Saturday October 17, 2026 at 11am to 11:45am at Ray Lewis Track and Field Centre, in support of Kat and her incredible goal! Hope to see you there!!

She loves celebrating every athlete’s journey, from first-timers to seasoned competitors and knows that there’s nothing quite like that finish line feeling.

Why retro run 100 km?
On Saturday, October 17 Kat will retro run 100km at the Ray Lewis Track & Field Centre (Mohawk Sports Complex) in Hamilton to support The Good Shepherd Steps to Health Program.

In 2015, Kat attempted to set the Guinness World Record for Fastest Female Retro Running a Full Marathon. Kat achieved the record in 4:48:42, however her GoPro batteries did not last, so footage was not captured for the official record.

In 2017, Kat attempted the same record, finishing in 4:26:06, however yet again, her GoPro batteries did not last.
Â
Kat is the current World Record Holder in Retro Running a Full Marathon, but seeks redemption in obtaining the Guinness World Record.

Rather than attempting another marathon, let's go bigger! 100km!

With that big of a distance, we need a big fundraising goal! We set our goal to be $6,200! All donations will go directly towards sending Good Shepherd Steps to Health members to camp!
